Why Do I Need Travel Vaccinations?

Different countries have different health risks. Travel vaccinations protect you from serious diseases that may be common in the regions you're visiting but rare in the UK. Some countries require proof of certain vaccinations for entry. Our travel health service ensures you're fully protected and compliant with international health regulations.

Hepatitis A & B

Rabies

How it works

Antimalarial Medication

If you're traveling to a malaria-endemic area, you'll need antimalarial medication. We stock all major antimalarials and will recommend the most appropriate one based on your destination, trip duration, and medical history.

  • Malarone (Atovaquone/Proguanil) - daily tablet, well-tolerated
  • Doxycycline - daily antibiotic, budget-friendly option
  • Lariam (Mefloquine) - weekly tablet for long trips
  • Prescription and advice on proper usage included
  • Side effect management and prevention tips

Who Should Get Travel Vaccinations?

  • Anyone traveling to countries where certain diseases are endemic
  • Travelers to regions with poor sanitation or healthcare
  • People visiting friends and relatives in their country of origin
  • Business travelers and expatriates
  • Adventure travelers and backpackers
  • Families traveling with children (age restrictions apply to some vaccines)

Consultation Fee

From £15

Initial consultation from £15. Vaccine costs vary depending on which vaccinations you require. Package deals available for multiple vaccines.

Important Information

Some travel vaccinations require multiple doses and must be started weeks or months before travel. Certain vaccines are not suitable for pregnant women, immunocompromised patients, or young children. Always declare all medical conditions and current medications during your consultation.

Important: Book Well in Advance

Some travel vaccinations require multiple doses spread over several weeks to months for full protection. Yellow Fever vaccination must be given at least 10 days before travel. We recommend booking your travel health consultation 6-8 weeks before departure. For last-minute travel, contact us - we may still be able to provide some protection.

Frequently asked questions

We recommend booking at least 6-8 weeks before travel. Some vaccines require multiple doses (e.g., Hepatitis B needs 3 doses over 6 months, Rabies needs 3 doses over 21-28 days). However, even if you're traveling soon, book an appointment - we can still provide important protection.
