Meningitis ACWY vaccination is mandatory for all pilgrims entering Saudi Arabia for Hajj or Umrah. The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before travel and is valid for 3-5 years. You must present your International Certificate of Vaccination when applying for your visa and upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.
Important Timing Requirements
Meningitis ACWY vaccine MUST be given at least 10 days before your departure to Saudi Arabia and no more than 3-5 years before travel (depending on vaccine type). Do not leave this to the last minute as you will not be permitted to travel without valid vaccination certificates. Book your appointment at least 2-3 weeks before travel to allow time for certificate processing.
